On Wheel of Fortune airing September 30, 2026, the game opened with David carrying momentum into the main rounds and solving the first toss-up phrase MAKING THE DEAN’S LIST. In the opening Fun & Games round, he also claimed DOING FLIPS ON A TRAMPOLINE, giving him an early lead and setting the pace for the night.
The Mystery Round turned into one of the episode’s biggest swings. Emily was ruled incorrect when she added an extra word to Sahara, and David then missed as well, but Emily recovered and correctly solved SAHARA, MOJAVE AND GOBI for the round. That gave her a needed boost after a tense sequence in which more than one player had a chance at the puzzle.
David answered right back in the Prize Puzzle round. After Susan built some of the board before hitting trouble, David stepped in and solved IDEAL SPOT FOR NATURE LOVERS. That win came with a trip to Peru on a Road Scholar tour and pushed him well back in front.
The Triple Toss-Ups kept the action moving. David solved LIFTING A DUMBBELL, then added SWINGING A KETTLEBELL after both opponents missed, while Emily took the third with RINGING THE DINNER BELL. In the Speed-Up round, David sealed the episode by solving NOURISH AND FLOURISH, finishing with $22,898 in cash and tour winnings to secure the victory.
In the Bonus Round, David chose Phrase. After the standard letters and his additional picks, he faced the puzzle QUICK TO JUDGE. He was unable to solve it, so the bonus round was not won, and the envelope contained $45,000.
