On May 22, 2026, Wheel of Fortune opened with two quick toss-up solves that set the pace for the game. Krista Schlegel solved the $1,000 Phrase toss-up with THE WIND IN MY SAILS, and Anushi Parikh answered the $2,000 On the Map toss-up with DAYTONA BEACH. Those early solves gave both players a start before the first main-round puzzle shifted momentum.
Mitch Landsburg took control in the opening round and solved the Who Wins? puzzle HARRY POTTER OR VOLDEMORT?. That gave him the early lead, but the game turned in the Prize Puzzle round. Krista built a strong run on the Guilty Pleasure category and solved DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, a big pickup that pushed her well in front and added a Caribbean cruise to her total.
The Triple Toss-Up round featured three Numbers Game puzzles, and all three answers were completed. The first was IN THE FIRST PLACE, the second was ON SECOND THOUGHT, and the third was A THIRD HELPING. Krista added to her advantage during this stretch, while Mitch also stayed in contention with a solve of his own.
In the Speed-Up round, Anushi solved LUNCH BUNCH, which improved her final score, but it was not enough to catch Krista. By the end of regulation play, Krista Schlegel finished first and won the episode, advancing to the Bonus Round after a game that was decided by her strong middle and late puzzle performance.
For the Bonus Round, Krista chose Phrase. After the standard letters and her additional picks were revealed, she was unable to solve the final puzzle. The bonus puzzle answer was I LIKE YOUR AURA, so the bonus round was not won. Krista still left as the Wheel of Fortune winner for May 22, 2026, after solving key puzzles including THE WIND IN MY SAILS and DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
