On May 20, 2026, Wheel of Fortune featured a game that turned on several strong puzzle solves before Jason Ertischek pulled ahead late for the win. Dottie Edwards opened by solving the first toss-up, A WHALE OF A TALE, and Jason answered the second toss-up with THE MOONWALK. In the first main round, a Song Lyrics puzzle went to Jason, who solved I SAW THE SIGN AND IT OPENED UP MY EYES and built the early lead.
The next round gave Dottie an important recovery. After Jason had built up some momentum, the puzzle shifted and Dottie came through with SPARE KEY TO MY HEART. That kept her within range and set up a close contest heading into the middle of the show, with all three contestants still very much involved.
Sheila Faula then had her best moment in the Prize Puzzle round. In the category Working Out, she solved WATER AEROBICS, adding both cash and a Grand Bahama cruise. That round moved Sheila into first place and changed the shape of the game, forcing Dottie and Jason to make up ground in the remaining puzzles.
The Triple Toss-Ups spread the solves around. Sheila got PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND, Dottie answered EASTER ISLAND, and Jason took the third with GILLIGAN'S ISLAND. With the match still undecided, the Speed-Up round became the key moment of the episode. Jason solved LAST BUT NOT LEAST, a $9,000 solve that secured the victory and gave him the game with $15,100.
Jason advanced to the Bonus Round and chose What Are You Doing? After the standard letters and his additional choices were revealed, he was unable to solve the bonus puzzle, FIGURING OUT HOW MUCH. That meant the bonus round was not won, but Jason still finished the May 20, 2026 Wheel of Fortune episode as the champion after a strong late-game comeback.
